Both Idiom Repository Server and Idiom Decision Manager will automatically add themselves to the Windows Firewall Exceptions list during installation. However, if the installer fails to complete this operation the following steps can be taken to manually add both Idiom Repository Server and Idiom Decision Manager to the exception list.

    Idiom Repository Server

In order to configure Windows Firewall on the server machine you will need Administrator rights. Open the Control Panel and select Windows Firewall, and on the General tab, ensure that the ‘Don’t allow exceptions’ is not ticked.

Select the Exceptions tab. If you do not see Idiom Repository Server on the Exceptions list, you will need to click the ‘Add Program’ button and Browse to where the Idiom Decision Server is installed.

After adding the Decision Server the Exceptions list would look similar to this:

    Idiom Decision Manager

To configure the Windows Firewall, ensure that you have System Administrator rights on the client machine.  Open the Control Panel and select Windows Firewall. On the General tab, ensure that the ‘Don’t allow exceptions’ is not ticked.
